My wife and I stayed here with another couple. We had a wonderful time but had a few things that bothered us.
Here are the pros we found:
-The bartenders were all very sociable and even called our room whenever there was happy hour or free drinks going on.
-The location is great. It is right in the heart of the hip strip.
-The pool is pretty nice and they often had a DJ playing by it.
-The food was above average.
-The price is pretty good.
-Hotel is decorated in a tropical theme.
-Rooms were clean.
-The air conditioning unit was modern and worked well.
-The room was decent and had a balcony.
-Maid service came daily and no problems with getting towels.
-Entrance to Doctor's Cave Beach was free if you got a voucher at the front desk.
-It is only five minutes from the airport.
Here are the cons
-Hotel is getting a bit dated but still more updated than Gloustershire.
-It is not a local friendly hotel. We had friends and family come to visit and they were not allowed anywhere but the bar area. This upset me quite a bit as it was embarassing how the security approached my sister and brother in law. Imagine going to see family who traveled to come see you at their hotel and then being told no you can't come in. Very insulting.
-The pool table, weight room, and ping pong table were all very old. I used the weight room anyways. It was not kept up very well and you could tell the equipment was not wiped on a frequent basis. Some of it was beginning to rust. I don't care a weight is a weight and it worked but it was not what they advertised on their website. There were also quite a few lizards in the weight room but I was in the tropics and enjoyed seeing them scurry about.
Overall we actually liked this hotel and I still stop in to chat with a bartender nicknamed Junior on every trip. I would stay there again but like I said they are not local friendly. For young people looking for a place in a good location for partying in Mo Bay this is a good hotel. This hotel would also appeal to a family looking to get beach access at a lower price than some of the other big resorts in Mo Bay. The rooms are good and have modern air condtioning units & televisions. Don't expect to bring any friends you meet at the beach or bar to the balcony or your room though. The security will approach you and the front desk will try to charge you if you take the guest onto the property. This is a better hotel in regards to what it offers in the rooms and its location than comparably priced places like Gloustershire, Toby's, or Gloriana but they get a better rating from me because they are much more local friendly. Besides the bartenders and a few groundsmen the staff really wasn't too friendly. It was no big deal but we like chatting with the staff.
If the staff were nicer I'd rate it higher but they get a 6.5 out of 10.
