You are truly taken care of the moment you step off the plane. From the wonderfully orchestrated check-in where they serve you Champaign and explain how everything works to the perfectly timed and attentive check-out where they send you on your way feeling like you didn't forget anything and you can't wait to come back, they attend to your every need no matter what. If we had just paid for our vacation, showed up, stayed in our room and enjoyed what the resort itself had to offer onsite, it would have been unbelievably amazing. We actually were able to take part in a few off-site tours and activities that just put the icing on the cake. The rooms are beautiful and very accommodating. The surroundings are truly a breathtaking jungle paradise where you feel God intended you to be. Every single Sandals employee was more than wonderful. Always appearing eager to accommodate any request you come to them with. A smile on every face. They treat honeymooners so terrifically. The amount of daily events and activities offered for free on site are more than enough to make you feel like you got your money's worth not to mention all the food and drink you can manage to consume awaits you at any time of day. Our particular room (which wasn't even close to the most expensive) was stocked with Rum, red and white wine, Red Stripe beer, soda, water and juices in the fully functional kitchen. No matter how much of it we drank, it was all replaced daily. INCLUDED. No extra fees for that at check out or anything! Our room attendant (Maid service) was even able to make us feel like we were special. We only saw her once but she always found a way to let us know she had not only cleaned and reorganized our room but was happy to do it. They have these folks called "Playmakers.” They are the people throughout the resort that are in charge of all the fun activities. Things like evening parties where they serve an abundance of food and drink, have random performers like jugglers, fire eaters, dancers and many more, and highly recommend guest participation in crowd response and dancing the night away. The playmakers are fantastic people. Really nice and so much fun to be around. They host contests, show you around and answer questions, run things like the climbing wall and Friday night movies by the pool. Oh, and the pool!!! What an awesome pool! Very comfortable water. We played volley ball and basket ball, swam around and enjoyed the day and sat at the swim up bar and sampled some of Jamaica's famous Rum. It was awesome. The beaches are wonderful. Crystal clear water. Warm, calm and beautiful. There are many reefs nearby the resorts that some of the cruises take you to for snorkeling (We HIGHLY recommend that.) Sandals even has a SCUBA diving center on site where you can either take the short class to be able to dive while at Sandals or you can be completely certified in open water diving and use your certification anywhere. They have plenty of water and land sports to partake in (ALL INCLUDED!!) The spa is a dream come true. We lounged in their “Tranquility room” while sipping on tea and listening to soothing music, gazing at a beautiful water fall and then just sunk into each other’s arms. We had a couple’s massage, ON THE BEACH followed by Champaign and relaxation. They sent us off with a gift bag of spa products. (Included in the beach-side couple’s massage price – The Spa being the only thing on-site at the resort you had to pay for besides the gift shop.) The fact that the whole resort is NON-CASH was neat too. You put a credit card on your room that they place a hold on and then anything you DO purchase comes out of this little Sandals Card they give you to present to any cashiers. Then, when you check out, what ever you spent comes out of that credit card and you never had to worry about carrying money around with you. You could attach it to the keychain your room key is on and that would be the only thing you would have to carry around with you accept your lover’s hand ; -). The restaurants were fantastic. Beautiful atmospheres. Amazing service. Wonderful people. Try the Jerk Chicken and Jerk Pork! It's fantastic. We even had one of our guests from our wedding contact Sandals before we went to buy us a special private candelight dinner on the beach as a wedding present. We had a quiet table on the beach right at sunset with our own, white gloved server and nothing but beautiful beach surrounding us. What a great gift!! The whole resort is the epitome of Romance. We can't wait to go back. We saw many of the Sandals team reminiscing with return guests about the last time they were there because they REMEMBER THEM. They really remember the guests they've met before! They are all so awesome. I could go on for days about the DREAM HONEYMOON my husband and I had at Sandals Grande Ocho Rios. Take our word for it.
